Gamify your bedtime with Pokémon

Pokémon Sleep is a free game intended to help players improve their sleeping habits. It doesn’t require an external device such as a smartwatch to track your sleep—just put your device face down and you’re good to go. However, it's recommend to not put your phone under your pillow as it can overheat.

Pokémon Sleep turns sleeping into entertainment, and you will be rewarded for getting a good night's rest. It will involve collecting and training Pokémon characters and mini games where the difficulty depends on how well you slept. If you're not a Pokemon fan, you can download either ShutEye: Sleep Tracker or Do I Snore or Grind.

Improve your sleeping habits the fun way

Pokémon Sleep is focused on sleep tracking and promoting healthy sleep habits, with a Pokémon-themed twist. All you have to do is leave your device within reach of your bed to measure your sleep, and the game will provide you with basic data, such as the overall time you spent asleep and the time it took you to doze off.

The app will use the above-mentioned data to assign the player to one of three types: Dozing, Snoozing, or Slumbering. It will then match them with corresponding Pokémon characters. This is a fun and adorable way to encourage you to become more aware of your sleep patterns and make positive changes to your sleep habits, which are good for your health. The app includes unlockable sleep types, too, such as Aboveground, Curled-Up, and Goofy, to name a few.

During your waking hours, you can feed a Snorlax and improve its Strength stat. Aiming for a better Sleep Score and higher Strength will result in a better Drowsy Power—allowing Snorlax to draw in more Pokémon. This adds a playful element to the app and helps to keep it engaging and fun for everyone. Unfortunately, you can’t trade your Pokémon, so completing your Sleep Style Dex can take time.

The game consists of different unlockable Pokemon characters, including well-known ones like Bulbasaur, Charmander, Charizard, Squirtle, and many more. While the game is already doing its job effectively, the developers are still adding new features for a more enjoyable gaming experience for the players, for example, holding a special in-game Halloween event or releasing new Pokemon characters like the Thunder Pokemon Raikou and Legendaries Entei and Suicune

Now available in select territories

Trainers residing in the United States, Australia, Canada, Latin America, and New Zealand can now download Pokémon Sleep on their devices and enjoy a more restful sleep while encountering and catching all sorts of Pokémon that are drawn to your sleep type. Those outside of the aforementioned regions have to wait a little longer, though, as release updates will be coming soon, according to the app’s Twitter page.

Unique and innovative features

Despite requiring players to have an external device in order to play or use this app, all in all, the goal of Pokémon Sleep is to provide a fun and engaging experience that promotes healthy sleep habits without the need for external devices. It has a unique and innovative take on the traditional Pokémon formula, with a focus on promoting healthy sleeping habits and encouraging players to become more cognizant of their sleep patterns. In return, players can unlock their favorite Pokémon characters.
